Bay Preservation & Sustainable Living
Think Solar, Act Local

From day one, ARKUP founding team worked on their sustainable “livable yacht” project convinced that alternative ways of building were possible and even necessary. Here is how they did their part.

The 75 feet yacht is more than just a sophisticated house on a hight-tech barge. It gathers the most innovative renewable energies and sustainable living solutions recently brought to the market, ranging from rain water harvesting and waste water management to maximum thermal performance insulation, multizone adaptive air conditioning or state-of-the-art marine batteries. An innovative combination leading this silent, stable and diesel-free yacht to achieve a spectacular zero-carbon footprint for its surrounding community, the environment… and also future generations!

To the surprise of many
The 2,400 square feet solar roof provides energy for the entire house loads (including HVAC, lighting and appliance) and the 272 hp electric propulsion. On a regular Florida sunny day, the energy needs are met and stored by mid-day.
More innovation?
